Willingham Performing Arts Academy Presents ‘Spookley the Square Pumpkin’ at Willingham Theater October 21-24, 2021 | Children Family

Watch Spookley learn to be the bravest pumpkin around!

(Yadkinville, North Carolina) – The Willingham Theater and the Willingham Performing Arts Academy get into the spirit of fall with the performance of the musical “Spookley the Square Pumpkin” from October 21-24, 2021 at the Willingham Theater. This musical is family friendly and suitable for all ages.

In perfect harmony with fall and Halloween, a special little pumpkin has sprouted in Smithtown; one who sings and dances and teaches us that the things that make you different make you special. Based on the animated film Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Joe Troiano and Tom Hughes and the book The Legend of Spookley the Square Pumpkin by Troiano, it tells the story of a square pumpkin living in a round pumpkin patch and its struggle to integrate into it. Encouraged by the kind Jack Scarecrow, Spookley does his best, but he’s not sure he’s got what it takes until a powerful storm threatens Holiday Hill Farm. Spookley realizes that it’s up to him and his square form to save the day. As a result, all of the pumpkins in the patch learn that the things that make you different make you special!

The Yadkin Arts Council is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of citizens of Yadkin County through the arts. In September 2010, the council opened the new Yadkin Cultural Center, which houses the arts in Yadkin County. It includes the Welborn Gallery, Willingham Theater, Center Bistro, classrooms and meeting rooms, staff offices and working artist studios.

About the Willingham Theater

The Willingham Theater hosted its first performance in December 2012, just two years after the Yadkin Cultural Arts Center opened its doors to citizens of Yadkin County. While many might dismiss the power of a small town theater, we like to prove that we can indeed bring the excitement and experience of a big city to our small town. Our state-of-the-art theater can accommodate 193 spectators and presents a variety of captivating performances ranging from music, dance, theater, comedy and even cinema. In addition to plenty of seating, the Willingham Theater has remarkable cutting-edge technology. The Willingham Theater is owned and operated by the Yadkin Arts Council.
