The Texas Tech University School of Music, housed within the JT & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, announces the hiring of two distinguished guest maestros this fall.

David Cho, musical director of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, will perform with the University Symphony Orchestra throughout the semester and Viswa Subbaraman will conduct the Texas Tech Opera Orchestra in November, according to a press release.

The Texas Tech and Lubbock communities are invited to hear the University Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maestro David Cho at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 15 at the Crickets Theater at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences and at 7:30 p.m. November 19 in the Hemmle recital hall.

Cho’s career has been marked by remarkable achievements, including winning the E.
